Montenegro and AII

Montenegro became a member on June 1, 2007 at the Conference of the Ministerian Council in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Montenegro recognised the importance of the project-oriented cooperation in the areas of mutual intenrest and in created a network of contact-persons in accordance with the defined areas of cooperation. Representatives of the MFA of Montenegro actively participate in the meetings of the High Offiials’ Committee and the Ministerial Meeting of the AII, whereas the representatives of respective Ministries partake in a number of themed meetings.

Having in mind that the Chairmanship of the AII implies several meetings at the political level and a significantly larger number of themed meetings of the Round Tables organised by the respective Ministries, the responsibility in maintaining the Chairmanship is shared among many (the Ministry Maritime Affairs, Transportation and Telecommunication,Ministry of Tourism, Ministry for Spatial Planning and Environment, The Ministry of Interior Affairs and Public AdministrationThe Ministry of FinanceThe Ministry of Culture, Sports and MediaMinistry of DefenseThe Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water ManagementThe Ministry of JusticeThe Ministry of Education and Science, the Direction for the Development of Small- and Medium-Size Enterprises), whereas the biggest role and the coordination belong to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
