Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. Dr. Srdjan Darmanovic hosted today the online meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central-European Initiative (CEI) member states, which has been organized within Montenegrin presidency over this regional organization. Besides heads of diplomacy and high officials of CEI member states, EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi and World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe Dr Hans P. Kluge also attended the meeting.

Thirteen edition of Summer School for Young Diplomats “Gavro Vukovic”, organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has been ceremonially opened today, in Podgorica. This year Summer School will be held mostly in virtual format, in regard to the current global pandemic. Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. Dr. Srdjan Darmanovic, UNDP Resident Representative for Montenegro Daniela Gašparíková and Deputy Secretary for Project and Investments of Municipality of Berane Maja Pesic gave their speeches at opening ceremony which this year gathered 47 young diplomats from 28 countries.

Ambassador of Montenegro in the Republic of Serbia Tarzan Milosevic and Ambassador of Japan in Montenegro Junichi Maruyama, exchanged today notes of Japanese donation of 800.000 EUR, with aim to improve country’s health system against infectious diseases, including COVID 19, through supply of medical equipment.

Government of Montenegro is fully committed to proper managing of the election process while making significant efforts to hold elections in democratic and fair atmosphere, it was stated on today’s meeting between acting General Director for Multilateral Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Veljko Milonjic and representatives of the Head Team of ODIHR’s Election Observation Mission (EOM).

This time, the Russian Orthodox Church also has its part, citing publicly, through its president for foreign relations, Metropolitan Ilarion, that Montenegrin Ambassador in Moscow has tried to “convince him personally in validity” of our Law on Religious Freedom.
