Radulovic – Palmer: USA committed to foreign policy aspirations of Montenegro, credible ally and traditional friend

Montenegro and the United States of America
cherish bilateral relations characterized by high level of political dialogue,
along with constructive cooperation on all levels, enhanced through strategic
partnership within NATO alliance, as has been appraised today on the meeting of
Minister Đorđe Radulović with Deputy Assistant of State Secretary of USA for
European and Euro-Asian Affairs Matthew Palmer, held in online format.
Head of Montenegrin diplomacy informed
interlocutor about our primary foreign policy directions, committed to European
Integration, NATO membership and development of good neighboring relations. On
that line, Minister Radulovic reminded on importance of bilateral cooperation,
while particularly emphasizing American support in terms of Montenegrin NATO
membership, along with overall democratization of our society.
Radulovic emphasized that European Integration
remains on the top of our priority agenda, while we are very thankful for
support that we receive from USA, and that he expects that such trend will be
continued in the future. He stressed that primary activities in order to
accelerate and dynamize negotiation process with EU, will be focused on
Chapters 23 and 24.
“Good neighborhood policy stays as one of our high
priorities, thus we plan to implement so-known “zero-doctrine”, that includes
development of relations based on understanding, dialogue and removing all
potential frictions” stated Head of Montenegrin diplomacy.
Deputy Palmer congratulated Minister Radulovic on
his appointment, expressing the belief in successful term of office. As he
stated, USA traditionally remains committed to the partnership and friendship
with Montenegro. He accented that Montenegro, as credible ally in NATO alliance
and successful candidate for EU membership, will always have US support in all
the fields of importance for its foreign policy path. Palmer particularly appraised
development of good neighboring relations, while reminding that Western Balkan
is very significant for USA, and encouraging his interlocutor that Montenegro
should continue to be a promoter of stability throughout open and intensive
communication with neighbors.
